Process and goals are complementary and play together, but they have critical differences.
One could define a process as the journey to reach a specific goal. Because that road can potentially be long and bumpy, it requires a real commitment. When the result is not the primary concern, the journey to reach the final target becomes the critical element. Many small iterations made of attempts and learnings define that process.
On their side, goals only go two ways, either successfully or not. Success comes if the goal is reached, regardless of its complexity. And sometimes, the target is adapted along the way to ensure one can eventually accomplish it. But at first, winners and losers always have similar goals.
As this long-term goal can’t, to an extent, be fully defined upfront, let’s commit to the journey and make everything possible to enjoy it.
